Gorgeous bright, frosty day. Water levels very high, with River and Teal Pools touching. 2 Female Goosander(EMP); Kingfisher (TP); fewer Lapwing, Wigeon and Teal, possibly because of water levels. Excellent numbers of Shoveler (approx. 50) and BH Gulls. 7 Pochard (EMP),1 GBB Gull, and 30 Snipe (never seen this many at Brandon before)on EMP, on trio of islands to right of hide. Many green and gold and chaffinches on feeding station by tea room, with GS woodpecker, 1 male bullfinch, reed buntings. |
