| Single bittern showing well in reeds and channel to left of east marsh hide early afternoon. Goldeneye pair still present. Just 3 snipe on a quick scan. Shovelers entertaining as ever with their Strictly Come Dancing routine |

No sign of the Green-winged Teal this morning (quite a few teal on River Pool, many in the reeds, so could of been hiding...), Great-crested Grebe (1), Little Grebe (1), Pochard (30+), Wigeon (6), Teal (30+), Shoveler (50+), Sparrowhawk (1), Kestrel (1), Buzzard (1), Kingfisher (3 sighings, east marsh and river pool), Goldeneye (1), Long-tailed tit (7), Willow Tit (1), Bullfinch (2), Treecreeper (1), Goldfinch, Grey Heron, Cormorant (2), Greylag Goose (50+), Canada Goose (10), Shelduck (1)

| 2 Bitterns seen from East Marsh hide this afternoon - one at approx 13:00 flew out of reedbed on rhs of hide and headed towards West Marsh and an hour or so later another flew from Newlands into reeds on lhs of hide (later seen swimming/wading across channel in reedbed) |
